GRUPO RNM
Fuel and Biofuel Logistics Terminal
The Liverpool Project consisted of the design and implementation of a logistics terminal for state-of-the-art fuels and advanced biofuels at the Port of Aveiro, marking a strategic step in the expansion of RNM Group’s infrastructure and in consolidating its position as one of the leading chemical operators in the Iberian Peninsula.
The new infrastructure increases RNM’s storage capacity by 57,000 m³ and allows bp, through a service provision contract, to receive and distribute fuels and biofuels with a high degree of efficiency, reliability and flexibility. This terminal is prepared to mix fuels and incorporate material volumes of biofuels, responding quickly to market demands in the short, medium and long term.
Technoedif actively participated in all phases of the project, from the first draft to the completion of the work, over a period of 6 years. The services provided included:
- Procedural design and definition of the park layout;
- Feasibility studies and cost estimates;
- Support in licensing processes;
- Works coordination;
- Piping detail design.
The technical disciplines involved covered:
- Process
- Civil
- Mechanics (static and rotary)
- Electricity
- Instrumentation
- Layouts
This project, developed in a particularly challenging context, which included the COVID-19 pandemic, contributes significantly to the robustness of the energy supply chain in Portugal and to the promotion of sustainable solutions in the fuels sector.
